HYDROLOGIC STATEMENT
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE SPRINGFIELD MO

Significant rises are expected on the following rivers:

For the James River at Galena.  Flood stage is 15.0 feet. The latest
stage was 12.2 feet at 12 PM Wednesday. The river may rise to near
13.0 feet by 4 PM Wednesday.

For the Marmaton River near Nevada.  Flood stage is 20.0 feet. The
latest stage was 19.5 feet at 12 PM Wednesday. The river is near
crest and will remain near 19 feet through the afternoon.

For the Osage River near Schell City.  Flood stage is 30.0 feet. The
latest stage was 18.2 feet at 12 PM Wednesday. The river may rise to
near 26.2 feet by 1 PM Friday.

Do not drive through flowing water. Nearly half of all flood
fatalities are vehicle related. As little as 6 inches of water may
cause you to lose control of your vehicle. Two feet of water will
carry most vehicles away.
