UNDER A CLEAR SKY...THERE WAS A WIDE RANGE OF TEMPERATURES ACROSS
THE MISSOURI OZARKS AND EXTREME SOUTHEAST KANSAS EARLY THIS
MORNING. READINGS WERE RANGING FROM THE LOW 30S NEAR ROLLA...TO
THE UPPER 40S NEAR JOPLIN.

FOR TODAY...TEMPERATURES ARE EXPECTED TO REACH THE LOW 70S IN
SOUTHEASTERN KANSAS AND SOUTHWESTERN MISSOURI...WITH SOMEWHAT
COOLER 50S AND 60S ELSEWHERE. WINDS WILL INCREASE WITH GUSTS UP TO
AROUND 35 MILES PER HOUR POSSIBLE ESPECIALLY OVER SOUTHEAST
KANSAS AND THE WESTERN OZARKS. THE WINDY CONDITIONS WILL COMBINE
WITH LOW AFTERNOON RELATIVE HUMIDITY VALUES TO PRODUCE ELEVATED
FIRE WEATHER CONDITIONS THIS AFTERNOON OVER WESTERN MISSOURI AND
EXTREME SOUTHEAST KANSAS.

MORE SEASONABLE TEMPERATURES FOR LATE JANUARY WILL RETURN THURSDAY
AND BEYOND. THE NEXT CHANCE FOR MEASURABLE PRECIPITATION WILL COME
THIS WEEKEND AS A STORM SYSTEM MOVES JUST SOUTH OF OUR REGION.
