REGIONAL WEATHER SUMMARY
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE SPRINGFIELD MO
1128 AM CDT MON APR 14 2014

THE CALENDAR SAYS APRIL...BUT THE CONDITIONS OUTSIDE SAY WE HAVE
REGRESSED BACK TO FEBRUARY. MUCH COLDER AIR HAS FILTERED INTO THE
REGION...WITH TEMPERATURES ACROSS MUCH OF THE AREA IN THE 30S. THE
ONLY EXCEPTION IS ALONG AND SOUTHEAST OF THE PLATEAU WHERE
READINGS ARE HOLDING IN THE LOW TO MID 40S AT MIDDAY.

THE REST OF THE DAY WILL BE CLOUDY AND RAW. A MIX OF LIGHT RAIN
AND SNOW SHOWERS IS EXPECTED ALONG AND NORTHWEST OF THE
INTERSTATE 44 CORRIDOR...WITH LIGHT RAIN SHOWERS POSSIBLE ACROSS
THE REST OF THE AREA. TEMPERATURES WILL REMAIN NEARLY STEADY THE
REST OF TODAY.

A CLEARING SKY IS EXPECTED TONIGHT. UNFORTUNATELY...COLD AIR WILL
CONTINUE TO FILTER INTO THE REGION AND OVERNIGHT LOW TEMPERATURES
WILL REACH THE MIDDLE 20S ACROSS THE ENTIRE AREA. A FREEZE WARNING
REMAINS IN EFFECT.

TEMPERATURES SHOULD SLOWLY WARM BACK TO MORE NORMAL READINGS BY
THE LATTER PART OF THE WORK WEEK. THERE WILL ADDITIONAL CHANCES
FOR RAIN LATE IN THE WEEK.
