The National Weather Service in Springfield has issued a

* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for...
  Bourbon County in southeastern Kansas...
  Northern Crawford County in southeastern Kansas...
  Northwestern Vernon County in west central Missouri...

* Until 830 PM CDT.

* At 758 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near Redfield, or
  12 miles west of Fort Scott, moving northeast at 50 mph.

  HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and half dollar size hail.

  SOURCE...Radar indicated.

  IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage
           to roofs, siding, and trees.

* Locations impacted include...
  Fort Scott, Marmaton, Bronson, Uniontown, Walnut, Fulton, Redfield,
  Hepler, Richards, Mapleton, Deerfield, Metz, Stotesbury, Harding,
  Pawnee Station, Hiattville, Petersburg, Farlington, Hammond, and
  Devon.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Remain alert for a possible tornado! Tornadoes can develop quickly
from severe thunderstorms. If you spot a tornado go at once into the
basement or small central room in a sturdy structure.

For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.

This thunderstorm is capable of producing all types of severe weather
including extremely large hail, destructive straight line winds and
tornadoes. Move quickly to a safe shelter such as an interior room, a
bathroom, closet or basement.

Torrential rainfall is occurring with this storm, and may lead to
flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.

A Tornado Watch remains in effect until midnight CDT for southeastern
Kansas...and west central Missouri.
