A WINTER STORM WARNING FOR HEAVY SNOW REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL
6 AM CST THURSDAY.

* SHORT TERM TRENDS...LIGHT TO OCCASIONALLY MODERATE SNOW WILL
  CONTINUE THIS EVENING BEFORE TAPERING OFF TO FLURRIES OVERNIGHT.
  VISIBILITIES MAY STILL BE REDUCED TO A HALF MILE AT TIMES WITHIN
  BANDS OF MODERATE SNOW.

* TIMING AND AREAS AFFECTED...AREAS OF SOUTHERN MISSOURI MAINLY
  SOUTH OF HIGHWAY 60 AND EAST OF KIMBERLING CITY THROUGH LATE
  TONIGHT.

* SNOW AND SLEET ACCUMULATIONS...STORM TOTAL AMOUNTS OF 4 TO 6
  INCHES ARE EXPECTED. LOCALIZED AMOUNTS UP TO 7 INCHES ARE
  POSSIBLE ACROSS FAR SOUTH CENTRAL MISSOURI.

* VISIBILITY...MODERATE SNOW MAY REDUCE VISIBILITIES DOWN TO A HALF
  MILE AT TIMES.

* IMPACTS...SNOW ON TOP OF THE SLEET THAT FELL EARLY WEDNESDAY
  WILL LIKELY RESULT IN CONSIDERABLE TRAVEL IMPACTS ACROSS THE
  AREA INTO THURSDAY MORNING. THE MISSOURI DEPARTMENT OF
  TRANSPORTATION CONTINUES TO INDICATE THAT ROADS ARE SNOW COVERED
  AND HAZARDOUS...ESPECIALLY SOUTH OF THE HIGHWAY 60 CORRIDOR.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A WINTER STORM WARNING FOR HEAVY SNOW MEANS SEVERE WINTER WEATHER
CONDITIONS ARE EXPECTED OR OCCURRING.  SIGNIFICANT AMOUNTS OF
SNOW ARE FORECAST THAT WILL MAKE TRAVEL DANGEROUS. ONLY TRAVEL IN
AN EMERGENCY. IF YOU MUST TRAVEL...CONSIDER TAKING A WINTER STORM
KIT ALONG WITH YOU. THIS KIT SHOULD INCLUDE SUCH ITEMS AS TIRE
CHAINS...BOOSTER CABLES...A FLASHLIGHT...SHOVEL...BLANKETS...
EXTRA CLOTHING AND ANYTHING ELSE THAT WOULD HELP YOU SURVIVE IN

  OF SOUTHWESTERN MISSOURI LATE THIS EVENING. THE SNOW WILL TAPER
  TO FLURRIES OVERNIGHT.

* TIMING AND AREAS AFFECTED...PORTIONS OF SOUTHWESTERN MISSOURI
  SOUTH OF HIGHWAY 60 AND WEST OF KIMBERLING CITY THROUGH LATE
  TONIGHT.

* SNOW ACCUMULATIONS...STORM TOTAL SNOWFALL AMOUNTS OF ONE TO FOUR
  INCHES ARE EXPECTED.

* VISIBILITY...LIGHT SNOW WILL LIKELY RESULT IN VISIBILITY AT OR
  BELOW TWO MILES AT TIMES.

* IMPACTS...BE ALERT FOR VARYING ROAD CONDITIONS AND ICY
  SPOTS...PARTICULARLY ROAD INTERCHANGES...BRIDGES AND SECONDARY
  ROADS INTO THE OVERNIGHT HOURS. THE MISSOURI DEPARTMENT OF
  TRANSPORTATION INDICATES THAT AREAS WHERE ROADS BECAME WET OR
  SLUSHY WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON COULD REFREEZE IN SPOTS TONIGHT AS
  TEMPERATURES FALL INTO THE TEENS.
