At 242 PM, National Weather Service radar detected scattered
showers and thunderstorms, some with heavy rain mostly in far
eastern Oklahoma and northwest Arkansas and also west of a Eufaula
to Hugo line. Thunderstorms with locally heavy rain were located in
Mcintosh county in Oklahoma and Benton county in Arkansas and was
more widespread in southcentral Oklahoma. The precipitation was in
the Bentonville, Rogers and Fayetteville area. Movement was to the
east at around 20 mph. The average amount where it rained last hour
was one tenth to one quarter of an inch with maximum amounts of
three quarters to around an inch. Coverage, and intensity increased
during the last hour. The Tulsa area forecast for late this
afternoon, mostly cloudy, a chance of showers and thunderstorms with
temperatures 73 to 77 degrees and northwest winds 5 to 10 mph.
