AFTER A WARM START TO THE MONTH, TEMPERATURES TOOK A PLUNGE ON APRIL
2ND. FOR 4 STRAIGHT DAYS THE TEMPERATURE DROPPED INTO THE TEENS,
INCLUDING ONE DAY THAT THE TEMPERATURE DID NOT RISE ABOVE FREEZING.
THE 4 DAYS IN THE TEENS TIES 1964 FOR THE MOST SUCH DAYS IN APRIL ON
RECORD AT AUGUSTA. THE LOW TEMPERATURE OF 15 DEGREES ON APRIL 4 WAS
THE COLDEST LOW TEMPERATURE OBSERVED IN APRIL SINCE 1995. THE
TEMPERATURE MODERATED A BIT TOWARD THE MIDDLE OF THE MONTH WITH
MOST DAYS A FEW DEGREES ON EITHER SIDE OF NORMAL. AFTER RISING INTO
THE 70S ON THE 21ST AND 22ND, COLD WEATHER RETURNED AGAIN FOR THE
LAST WEEK OF THE MONTH.

THE AVERAGE TEMPERATURE WAS 41.8 DEGREES WHICH WAS 2.1 DEGREES BELOW
NORMAL AND THE COLDEST SINCE 2007. THE COLDEST APRIL ON RECORD WAS
1967 WITH AN AVERAGE TEMPERATURE OF 40.1 DEGREES. THE WARMEST WAS
2010 AT 48.9 DEGREES. THE AVERAGE LOW TEMPERATURE FOR THE MONTH WAS
31.4 DEGREES AND RANKED AS THE 4TH COLDEST ON RECORD. THE FOLLOWING
