Summary...September began and ended with dry conditions and very
warm temperatures (highs in the 80s to lower 90s) for much of North
Central and Southwest Montana. However, a series of weather systems
brought periods of moderate rain and mountain snow with unseasonably
cold temperatures. Many locations had a few days that did not get
warmer than the 30s to lower 40s with 24 hour precipitation totals
of at least 0.50 inches. In between these systems, though,
temperatures generally warmed back above normal. Overall, most areas
had slightly above normal temperatures with above normal
precipitation.
