...WARM AND DRIER DECEMBER FOR KOTZEBUE...

DECEMBER 2014 WAS WARMER THAN NORMAL BUT BELOW NORMAL WITH RESPECT TO PRECIPITATION
FOR THE MONTH. THE CLIMATE WAS DRIVEN BY A RIDGE OF HIGH PRESSURE IN THE HIGH
RUSSIAN ARCTIC AND BROAD TROUGH THAT SET UP OVER THE BERING SEA... ALONG WITH THE
ALEUTIAN LOW AND A SERIES OF LOWS THAT ROTATING WITHIN THE TROUGH IN THE CENTRAL
BERING SEA.


TEMPERATURES...THE AVERAGE DAILY MAXIMUM TEMPERATURE WAS THE 12TH WARMEST...THE
AVERAGE MINIMUM TEMPERATURE WAS THE 8TH WARMEST...THE AVERAGE DAILY TEMPERATURE WAS
THE 10TH WARMEST. THERE WERE THREE TEMPERATURE RECORDS SET...TWO HIGH MINIMUM AND
ONE DAILY HIGH MAXIMUM TEMPERATURE:
