...SNOWMELT WILL INCREASE FLOOD POTENTIAL ACROSS HIGHER ELEVATION
STREAMS AND RIVERS...
...RAINFALL OVER THE WEEKEND WILL ADD TO RUNOFF...
Mild weather has accelerated snowmelt at higher elevations, where
a significant snowpack remains. This is resulting in local field
flooding and rises along small streams and even mainstem rivers.
Further snow melt and a return to a wetter weather pattern this
weekend will increase runoff.
Small creeks and streams emptying from higher terrain will run
near bankfull, and potentially flood. Mainstream rivers including
the Weiser, Payette and Malhuer will need to be monitored in
response to the increased inflow from smaller creeks and streams.
Those with interests near these streams and rivers will need to
remain alert through the weekend.
