FLOOD STATEMENT
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE INDIANAPOLIS IN

...A Flood Warning continues for portions of the following rivers in
Indiana...

  East Fork White River...Muscatatuck River...Wabash River...White
  River...


.River flooding will continue through the holiday weekend and into
next week in much of western and southern Indiana. Dry weather
through Monday will allow river levels to continue to
fall in most areas through Tuesday.

Rainfall after Monday may cause some renewed flooding and prolong
river flooding past July 11 along the Wabash River in southwest
Indiana.


Precautionary/Preparedness Actions...

Motorists should never drive into flood water. Turn around and go
another way. Keep children away from flooded areas. Recreational and
agricultural interests should remain alert to changing river
conditions.

* At 11:46 AM Sunday the stage was 14.2 feet.
* Flood stage is 11.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The river will continue to fall to a stage of 13.4 feet
  by tomorrow morning.
* At 14.0 feet...Lowland flooding is in progress.  High water affects
  river cabins near North 9th Street.  Low county roads are nearly
  impassable.  Tapawingo Park in West Lafayette begins to flood.

* until Tuesday July 14.
* At 10:45 AM Sunday the stage was 20.4 feet.
* Flood stage is 16.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The river will continue to fall to below flood stage by
  Monday early afternoon.
* At 20.5 feet...Williamsport Road may begin to flood in Fountain
  County.  This road flooded in late December 2008 when river crested
  at 21.5 feet on the Covington gage.

* until further notice.
* At 10:45 AM Sunday the stage was 21.9 feet.
* Flood stage is 14.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The river will continue to fall to a stage of 21.0 feet
  by tomorrow morning.
* At 20.0 feet...Park in Southern Montezuma begins to flood.  Higher
  bottomlands begin to flood.  Water backs up most local tributaries.
  River water is at the top of some private levees.  Lowest county
  roads begin to flood.  Park County Road 75 West begins to flood.

  The Wabash River at Terre Haute.
* until Saturday evening.
* At 11:00 AM Sunday the stage was 20.6 feet.
* Flood stage is 14.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The river will continue to fall to below flood stage by
  late Saturday morning.
* At 20.0 feet...Extensive flooding behind Honey Creek Levee as a
  result of two unrepaired levee breaks from the April 2013 flood.
  This levee is maintained by the Honey Creek Levee Association.
  Flood waters behind the Honey Creek levee inundates most roads and
  affects a few residences and/or commerical activies.

  The Wabash River at Hutsonville Legacy Power Plant Site.
* until Wednesday July 15.
* Flood stage is 16.0 feet.
* Forecast...The river is forecast to have a maximum value of 23.3
  feet this afternoon.
* At 22.9 feet...Extensive backwater flooding of Hutson Creek
  affecting residential property on the south side of Hutsonville.
  Flood waters near the intersection of N. Main and E. Mechanic St on
  the northeast side of Hutsonville.  RVs and campers located along
  the river just south of Hutsonville moved to higher ground.

  The Wabash River at Riverton.
* until further notice.
* At 11:00 AM Sunday the stage was 23.1 feet.
* Flood stage is 15.0 feet.
* Moderate flooding is occurring and Moderate flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The river will continue to fall to a stage of 22.7 feet
  by tomorrow morning.
* At 24.0 feet...Extensive flooding is in progress.  Most levees are
  at critical levels.  Water level near the top of a few levees.
  High water begins to affect residences in eastern Palestine,
  Illinois and those along East River road just southeast of
  Palestine.  Some evacuations are necessary. Rodeo area in Leaverton
  Park begins to flood.  Water near or over East River Road south of
  Palestine.

  The Wabash River at Vincennes.
* until Sunday July 12.
* At 11:45 AM Sunday the stage was 22.0 feet.
* Flood stage is 16.0 feet.
* Moderate flooding is occurring and Moderate flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The river will continue rising to near 22.2 feet by this
  afternoon. The river will fall below flood stage early Sunday
  morning.
* At 22.0 feet...Almost all unprotected areas flood.  River cabins are
  surrounded by high water.  Oil fields in lowland areas are
  inaccessible by land vehicles.  Most local river roads flood.

* until Sunday July 12.
* At  9:00 AM Sunday the stage was 25.4 feet.
* Flood stage is 19.0 feet.
* Moderate flooding is occurring and Moderate flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The river will continue to fall to below flood stage by
  early Sunday morning.
* At 25.5 feet...Extensive lowland flooding in progress.  Much of the
  flood plain activity is affected by high water.  Numerous local
  river roads flood.

  The East Fork White River at Seymour.
* until Monday morning.
* At 10:45 AM Sunday the stage was 12.1 feet.
* Flood stage is 12.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The river will continue rising to near 12.3 feet by this
  afternoon. The river will fall below flood stage this evening.
* At 12.0 feet...Significant agricultural lands begins to flood.  High
  water affects some local roads.

* Forecast...The river is forecast to have a maximum value of 18.5
  feet this afternoon.
* At 18.0 feet...Floods area in a few low spots and woodland areas
  along the river.  Residential property is not directly at this
  point.

  The White River at Edwardsport.
* until Monday afternoon.
* At  7:00 AM Sunday the stage was 17.9 feet.
* Flood stage is 15.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The river will continue to fall to below flood stage by
  after midnight tomorrow.
* At 18.0 feet...Old Vincennes Road and State Road 358 in Daviess
  County and Schaefer Road in Knox County are impassable.  High water
  affects agricultural bottomlands.  During agricultural season this
  level is of concern to farmers on the unprotected areas along the
  river.  High water affects river cabins.

  The White River at Petersburg.
* until Wednesday afternoon.
* At 11:30 AM Sunday the stage was 20.7 feet.
* Flood stage is 16.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The river will continue to fall to below flood stage by
  Wednesday morning.
* At 20.5 feet...County Road 250 West from State Road 56 floods and
  blocks the vehicle access to Dodge City.  During the March 2008
  flood the river remained above this level from late afternoon March
  19 through April 9.   As mid-March 2011 high water was receding...
  SR 257 south of Washington reopened when Shoals was at 10.5 feet
  and falling steadily for the past 2 days.

* Flood stage is 16.0 feet.
* Forecast...The river is forecast to have a maximum value of 21.2
  feet tomorrow morning.
* At 22.0 feet...In agricultural season, extensive flooding of
  bottomlands and some of the higher bottomlands is in progress.
  High water surrounds Residents in river cabins.  Oil fields and
  local roads flood.
