Fire Weather Planning Forecast for New Mexico and Far West Texas
National Weather Service El Paso TX/Santa Teresa NM
155 PM MST Tue Feb 21 2017

...FIRE WEATHER WATCH IN EFFECT FROM THURSDAY MORNING THROUGH
THURSDAY EVENING...

.DISCUSSION...
Breezy to windy conditions will be the norm starting Thursday.
Wednesday will see winds generally 10-15 mph with warming
temperatures. Thursday 20-foot winds will increase to 20-30 mph
with gusts over 45 mph possible. Relative humidities over the
lowlands and possibly the eastern slopes of the Sacs will be
falling into the lower to mid teens which will create critical
weather conditions where a fire weather watch is in effect.
Breezy, but less than critical, wind speeds are expected through
the weekend but relative humidities will continue to drop to
around 10 percent. Additional critical fire weather days are
possible early next week.
