FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR NORTHERN ALABAMA
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HUNTSVILLE AL
251 AM CDT SUN AUG 2 2015

.DISCUSSION...

DRY WEATHER WILL CONTINUE THROUGH TUESDAY AS A HIGH PRESSURE SYSTEM
REMAINS IN PLACE ACROSS THE SOUTHEAST.

MINIMUM RELATIVE HUMIDITY VALUES ARE EXPECTED TO DROP BELOW 30%
TODAY AND AGAIN ON MONDAY, BUT 20-FOOT WINDS SHOULD REMAIN LIGHT
PRECLUDING THE NEED FOR A RED FLAG WARNING. KBDI VALUES LOOK TO BE
CLOSE TO 500 AND MAY EXCEED 500 BY TUESDAY. HOWEVER, BY TUESDAY
SOUTHERLY WINDS SHOULD RETURN RESULTING IN MINIMUM RELATIVE HUMIDITY
VALUES RISING ABOVE 30%. MEANWHILE, DISPERSION VALUES SHOULD REMAIN
GENERALLY GOOD TO FAIR FOR TODAY AND MONDAY WITH MIXING HEIGHTS
RISING TO BETWEEN 6000-7000 FT.

THEN, A SHIFT IN THE WEATHER PATTERN IS EXPECTED BY WEDNESDAY WITH
A SERIES OF UPPER LEVEL DISTURBANCES MOVING ACROSS NORTHERN ALABAMA.
THESE DISTURBANCES WILL ACT TO INCREASE RELATIVE HUMIDITY VALUES AND
CHANCE FOR THUNDERSTORMS.
