Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Southwest and South-Central
Arizona and Southeast California
National Weather Service Phoenix AZ
455 AM MST Tue Apr 25 2017

...RED FLAG WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 2 PM THIS AFTERNOON TO 8 PM
MST THIS EVENING DUE TO STRONG WINDS...LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY AND HIGH FIRE DANGER...

.DISCUSSION...
A fast moving but dry weather system will bring cooler high
temperatures to the area area today along with breezy to windy
conditions, especially over south-central Arizona. Peak westerly
gusts in excess of 40 mph are likely during the afternoon hours
today. Much less wind is expected on Wednesday along with warmer
temperatures out west. It will be dry both days with minimum RH
values from 10 to 15 percent over the lower deserts today then
falling into the single digits tomorrow. The combination of strong
wind and low humidity will result in critical fire weather
thresholds being reached over the lower Arizona desert this
afternoon.

Note...Additional Fire Weather Forecast information can be found
in the Area Forecast Discussion. See product PHXAFDPSR.
