.DISCUSSION...
Another breezy, dry and unstable day is expected as an upper level
trough slowly crosses the northern and central Rockies. A brief
period of critical fire weather conditions will be possible in the
afternoon as Haines climbs to 6. Cooler air will begin to funnel
into the area Saturday and humidities will begin to increase, as
winds weaken and Haines remains high. A slow-moving low pressure
system will steer rich moisture over New Mexico as it approaches the
Baja Peninsula early next week. This will hold temperatures below
normal with a chance for showers and thunderstorms each afternoon and
evening starting Sunday. The moisture will cause the Haines Index to
moderate.
