 ...NEW RIVER FORECAST SERVICES TO BEGIN AT THE NECHES RIVER SALT
WATER BARRIER...

ON OCTOBER 24TH 2016...THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE WILL BEGIN NEW
RIVER FORECAST WARNING SERVICES FOR THE NECHES RIVER AT THE
SALTWATER BARRIER NEAR BEAUMONT (NSBT2).

THIS NEW FORECAST POINT WILL PROVIDE SERVICES TO REPLACE THE OLD
WEISS BLUFF FORECAST (WBFT2) COVERING PORTIONS OF
HARDIN...JEFFERSON...JASPER AND ORANGE COUNTIES ALONG THE NECHES
RIVER.

THE CRITERIA WILL BE BASED ON THE FOLLOWING:
ACTION STAGE: 3.5 FEET
FLOOD STAGE: 4.0 FEET
MODERATE FLOOD STAGE: 6.0 FEET
MAJOR FLOOD STAGE: 8.0 FEET
