...RED FLAG WARNING IN EFFECT THIS MORNING THROUGH THIS EVENING
FOR WINDY AND VERY DRY CONDITIONS ACROSS SOUTHEAST NEW MEXICO, FAR
NORTHWEST PERMIAN BASIN AND ALONG AND WEST OF THE PECOS RIVER...

.Gusty west to northwest winds will occur today and bring very
dry air over the region. Wind speeds look to reach and exceed 20
mph sustained over portions of the region as relative humidity
drops to near 5 to 10 percent areawide resulting in critical fire
weather conditions. Conditions will improve this evening as winds
diminish and humidity increases.

FOR RELATIVE HUMIDITY OF 15 PERCENT OR LESS, 20 FOOT WINDS OF 20
MPH OR MORE AND HIGH FIRE DANGER...

* TEMPERATURES: Around 5 degrees above normal.

* HUMIDITY: 5 to 10 percent.

* FIRE DANGER: High to very high.

* IMPACTS...Any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly.
  Outdoor burning is not recommended.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...  This is a very dangerous
fire weather situation. Gusty winds and very low relative
humidities combined with above normal temperatures will create
weather conditions favorable for the multiple occurrence of large
fires.
