...LOCALLY STRONG AND GUSTY DOWNSLOPE WINDS ARE EXPECTED...

ALONG THE EASTERN SLOPES OF THE SISSETON HILLS LATE TONIGHT INTO
SATURDAY...WESTERLY WINDS OF 25 TO 35 MPH WITH OCCASIONAL GUSTS
OVER 50 MPH ARE EXPECTED. THE STRONGEST WIND GUSTS SHOULD DEVELOP
BETWEEN 6 AM CST AND NOON CST SATURDAY. THE LOCATIONS MOST
AFFECTED WILL BE THE HIGHER TERRAIN AREAS OF THE SISSETON HILLS AS
WELL AS UP TO 15 MILES EAST OF THE HILLS. THIS INCLUDES INTERSTATE
29 BETWEEN SUMMIT AND PEEVER...OR BETWEEN MILE MARKERS 210 AND
225. U.S. HIGHWAY 12 FROM SUMMIT TO MILBANK MAY ALSO EXPERIENCE
STRONG WINDS.

THE STRONG WINDS MAY PROMOTE MAINLY SOME MINOR GROUND LEVEL
DRIFTING SNOW. ANYONE WITH TRAVEL PLANS ACROSS FAR NORTHEASTERN
SOUTH DAKOTA SHOULD BE PREPARED FOR SUDDEN CHANGES IN WIND
DIRECTION AND SPEED WITHIN THIS FAVORED DOWNSLOPE WIND REGION.
