...ACCUMULATING SNOW IN THE SOUTH WASHINGTON AND NORTH AND CENTRAL
OREGON CASCADE FOOTHILLS AND THE HIGHER COAST RANGE SUNDAY NIGHT
AND MONDAY MORNING...

...EXTREMELY COLD AND BLUSTERY WEATHER COMING TO SOUTHWEST
WASHINGTON AND NORTHWEST OREGON THIS WEEK...

ONE TO FOUR INCHES OF SNOW IS POSSIBLE SUNDAY NIGHT AND MONDAY
MORNING IN THE SOUTH WASHINGTON AND NORTH AND CENTRAL OREGON
CASCADE FOOTHILLS AND THE HIGHER COAST RANGE SUNDAY NIGHT AND
MONDAY AS THE SNOW LEVELS LOWER TO 1500 TO 2000 FEET SUNDAY NIGHT
AND POSSIBLY BELOW 1000 FEET MONDAY MORNING.

FOLLOWING THAT...THE COLDEST COLD SNAP OF THE SEASON WILL IMPACT
SOUTHWEST WASHINGTON AND NORTHWEST OREGON THIS WEEK. COLD EAST
WINDS WILL BEGIN TO DEVELOP ACROSS THE AREA LATE MONDAY MORNING
AND MONDAY AFTERNOON...AND INCREASE IN EARNEST OVER THE AREA
MONDAY NIGHT AND TUESDAY. THIS WILL BRING THE COLDEST TEMPERATURES
OF THE SEASON TO THE REGION...AND LIKELY BRING COLD WIND CHILLS TO
MUCH OF THE AREA.

EAST WINDS WILL LIKELY GUST TO 60 TO 70 MPH IN THE WINDIEST AREAS
OF THE COLUMBIA RIVER GORGE BY MONDAY NIGHT. BRISK EAST AND
NORTHEAST WINDS WILL ALSO AFFECT THE ENTIRE REGION BY MONDAY NIGHT
AND TUESDAY...INCLUDING THE ENTIRE WILLAMETTE VALLEY...THE COAST
AND COAST RANGE...THE CASCADES AND FOOTHILLS...AND THE SOUTHWEST
WASHINGTON INTERIOR. THE WINDS COULD BE LOCALLY STRONG ENOUGH TO
DO SOME DAMAGE AND CAUSE SOME POWER OUTAGES AGAIN.

LOW TEMPERATURES MONDAY NIGHT WILL LIKELY FALL INTO THE SINGLE
DIGITS AND POSSIBLY EVEN BELOW ZERO IN THE CASCADES...WITH MID
TEENS TO MID TWENTIES IN THE WESTERN VALLEYS...AND 20S AT THE
COAST. HIGHS ON TUESDAY MAY STRUGGLE TO REACH 32 DEGREES IN THE
VALLEYS...AND ONLY REACH INTO THE 30S ON THE COAST. HIGHS IN THE
CASCADES MAY ONLY REACH THE TEENS AND LOWER 20S.

THE STRONG EAST WINDS IN COMBINATION WITH COLD TEMPERATURES WILL
PRODUCE VERY COLD WIND CHILLS. THE COLDEST WIND CHILLS WILL LIKELY
BE IN THE CASCADES AND IN THE COLUMBIA GORGE...BUT THE REMAINDER
OF SOUTHWEST WASHINGTON AND NORTHWEST OREGON WILL FEEL THE EFFECTS
TO THE COLD WIND AS WELL.

BE SURE TO HAVE WINTER SUPPLIES ON HAND AND BE PREPARED FOR THE
COLD WEATHER AND BRISK EAST WINDS THIS WEEK.
