            AN EF2 TORNADO TOUCHED DOWN 3.5 MILES WEST OF THE CITY
            LIMITS OF WEST MONROE NEAR THE 4000 BLOCK OF NEW
            NATCHITOCHES ROAD. NUMEROUS TREES WERE UPROOTED OR
            SNAPPED. THE TORNADO MOVED EAST NORTHEAST ON A 9-MILE
            TRACK THROUGH WEST MONROE AND MONROE CAUSING DAMAGE TO
            NUMEROUS HOMES AND BUSINESSES...IN ADDITION TO WEST
            MONROE HIGH SCHOOL. THE TORNADO WAS 300 YARDS AT ITS
            WIDEST POINT WITH MAXIMUM WINDS OF 125 MPH.
