...MAJOR FLOODING THREAT INCREASING ON THE RED RIVER...

...LATEST RED RIVER STAGES AND FORECAST CREST INFORMATION...

ADDITIONAL VERY HEAVY RAINFALL IS EXPECTED ACROSS THE RED RIVER
BASIN BOTH UPSTREAM AND DOWNSTREAM OF LAKE TEXOMA IN NORTH TEXAS
THROUGH MEMORIAL DAY.  NEARLY ALL OF THE RED RIVER`S TRIBUTARIES IN
SOUTHERN OKLAHOMA AND NORTH TEXAS REMAIN ABOVE FLOOD STAGE.  SOILS
IN THE RED RIVER BASIN REMAIN SATURATED FROM THIS VERY WET SPRING OF
2015.  ALSO LAKE TEXOMA ON THE RED RIVER AND TRIBUTARY RESERVOIRS TO
THE RED RIVER REMAIN VERY HIGH AS WELL FROM STORED FLOOD WATERS.

AREA RESIDENTS...RANCHERS...AND FARMERS IN NORTHEAST
TEXAS...SOUTHWEST ARKANSAS...NORTHERN LOUISIANA...AND SOUTHEAST
OKLAHOMA ALONG THE RED RIVER NEED TO VERY CLOSELY MONITOR WEATHER
CONDITIONS AS WELL AS CLOSELY MONITOR RIVER AND LAKE STAGES THROUGH
THE FIRST WEEK OF JUNE.  AS HEAVY RAINFALL DEVELOPS THROUGH MEMORIAL
DAY MONDAY ACROSS MUCH OF THE RED RIVER BASIN...MAJOR FLOODING WILL
DEVELOP ON THE RED RIVER AND ITS TRIBUTARIES ACROSS NORTH TEXAS AND
SOUTH OKLAHOMA.

THIS DEVELOPING RED RIVER FLOOD EVENT HAS HIGH POTENTIAL TO BE
SIMILAR TO THAT OF MAY OF 1990.

THE 10 PM SUNDAY STAGE ON THE RED RIVER NEAR DEKALB TEXAS AT PECAN
POINT WAS 30.0 FEET. THE RIVER IS EXPECTED TO RISE TO NEAR 33.5 FEET
BY WEDNESDAY. ADDITIONAL RISES ARE POSSIBLE. FLOOD STAGE NEAR DEKALB
TEXAS IS 24 FEET.

THE 10 PM SUNDAY STAGE ON THE RED RIVER AT INDEX ARKANSAS NORTH OF
TEXARKANA WAS 16.8 FEET.  THE RIVER WILL CREST NEAR 27.3 FEET BY
THURSDAY.  ADDITIONAL RISES REMAIN POSSIBLE THEREAFTER WITH MAJOR
FLOODING QUITE POSSIBLE ACROSS SOUTHWEST ARKANSAS.  FLOOD STAGE IS
25 FEET.

THE 10 PM SUNDAY STAGE ON THE RED RIVER AT FULTON ARKANSAS WAS 20.2
FEET.  THE RIVER WILL RISE TO NEAR 27 FEET BY SATURDAY. ADDITIONAL
RISES ARE POSSIBLE THEREAFTER WITH MAJOR FLOODING QUITE POSSIBLE
ACROSS SOUTHWEST ARKANSAS. FLOOD STAGE IS 27 FEET.

THE 10 PM SUNDAY STAGE ON THE RED RIVER AT SHREVEPORT LOUISIANA WAS
28.1 FEET. THE RIVER WILL CONTINUE TO RISE TO NEAR 31.5 FEET BY THE
FIRST OF JUNE. FLOOD STAGE AT SHREVEPORT IS 30 FEET.

THE 10 PM SUNDAY STAGE ON THE RED RIVER AT COUSHATTA LOUISIANA WAS
31.9 FEET. THE RIVER IS EXPECTED TO RISE TO 33 FEET BY THE FIRST FEW
DAYS OF JUNE.  FLOOD STAGE AT COUSHATTA IS 31 FEET.

THE 10 PM SUNDAY STAGE ON THE RED RIVER AT GRAND ECORE LOUISIANA WAS
36.0 FEET. THE RED RIVER WILL RISE TO NEAR 37 FEET BY JUNE 3. FLOOD
STAGE AT GRAND ECORE IS 33 FEET.

COUSHATTA LOUISIANA 37.5 FEET DURING MAY 17 OF 1990.

GRAND ECORE LOUISIANA 40.7 FEET DURING MAY 18 OF 1990.
