...WINTER STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 PM CST THIS
EVENING...

* EVENT...AN UPPER LEVEL TROUGH OF LOW PRESSURE ACROSS WEST TEXAS
  AND THE PANHANDLE WILL BE MOVING INTO THE REGION LATER TODAY.
  OUT AHEAD OF THE TROUGH...MIXED PRECIPITATION...MOSTLY IN THE
  FORM OF FREEZING RAIN AND SLEET EARLY THIS MORNING SHOULD
  TRANSITION OVER TO MOSTLY SNOW. FREEZING RAIN AMOUNTS ACROSS THE
  ENTIRE AREA THIS MORNING COULD REACH ONE QUARTER OF AN INCH WITH
  SLEET AMOUNTS MAINLY LESS THAN ONE HALF INCH. SNOW AMOUNTS WILL
  VARY WITH THE HIGHER TOTALS...3 TO 5 INCHES POSSIBLE ACROSS THE
  NORTHERN THIRD OF NORTHEAST TEXAS...SOUTHEAST OKLAHOMA AND
  SOUTHWEST ARKANSAS. FURTHER SOUTH ALONG AND NEAR THE INTERSTATE
  20 CORRIDOR OF NORTHEAST TEXAS AND NORTHERN LOUISIANA...SNOW
  AMOUNTS SHOULD RANGE BETWEEN 1 INCH SOUTH OF THE INTERSTATE 20
  CORRIDOR TO NEAR 4 INCHES NORTH OF THE CORRIDOR.

* TIMING...THE WINTER PRECIPITATION IS ONGOING AT THIS TIME AND
  SHOULD EXIT THE REGION LATE THIS AFTERNOON OR EARLY THIS EVENING.

* IMPACT...ELEVATED AND EXPOSED SURFACES INCLUDING BRIDGES AND
  OVERPASSES WILL BE THE FIRST TO ACCUMULATE ICE. HEAVIER BANDS
  OF SLEET AND SNOW WILL RESULT IN ICY ROADWAYS AS WELL.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A WINTER STORM WARNING FOR FREEZING RAIN...SLEET AND SNOW MEANS
SEVERE WINTER WEATHER CONDITIONS ARE EXPECTED TO DEVELOP.
SIGNIFICANT AMOUNTS OF SNOW AND FREEZING RAIN ARE FORECAST FOR
PORTIONS OF THE REGION AND THAT WILL MAKE TRAVEL DANGEROUS.
ONLY TRAVEL IN AN EMERGENCY.

  THE ADVISORY AREA EARLY THIS MORNING. AS THE UPPER LEVEL TROUGH
  GETS CLOSER TO THE REGION...A CHANGE OVER TO FREEZING RAIN...
  SLEET AND OR SNOW IS EXPECTED LATER TODAY. LOOK FOR FREEZING RAIN
  AND SLEET ACCUMULATIONS LESS THAN ONE QUARTER OF AN INCH WITH
  SNOW AMOUNTS MAINLY LESS THAN 2 INCHES.

* TIMING...THE WINTER PRECIPITATION SHOULD BEGIN BY MID MORNING
  WITH THE PRECIPITATION EXPECTED TO MOVE EAST OF THE REGION LATER
  THIS AFTERNOON OR EARLY THIS EVENING.

* IMPACT...IMPACTS WILL BE CONFINED TO MAINLY ELEVATED AND
  EXPOSED SURFACES INCLUDING BRIDGES AND OVERPASSES.
