Area Forecast Discussion
National Weather Service Tampa Bay Ruskin FL

...New UPDATE, AVIATION...

.UPDATE...
Issued at 715 PM EDT Fri Apr 26 2024
Fairly typical late April weather across the region with high
pressure surface and aloft over the Florida peninsula, which will
hold over the area through Monday. The large scale subsidence
associated with the ridge will continue to create mostly clear
skies and temperatures several degrees above normal. A weak
progressive U/L trough will ride across the southeast U.S. and
Florida on Tuesday, however dry conditions will continue. The U/L
ridge will build back over the forecast area in the wake of the
trough on Wednesday and will persist through the remainder of the
week.

&&

.DISCUSSION...
Rain free forecast continues with ridging aloft from the NW Carib
Nward up the Eastern Seaboard through the weekend. W Atlantic high
pressure is becoming reinforced as well to tighten the pressure
gradient over the FL Peninsula with occasionally gusty easterly
winds and warm above normal temps.

An upper trough is expected to move through the N Gulf Coast
region early next week suppressing the upper ridge while the
Bermuda high weakens and the sea breeze returns to coastal areas
through mid to late next week.

.AVIATION...
(00Z TAFS)
Issued at 715 PM EDT Fri Apr 26 2024
VFR conditions will prevail for the next 24 hours with FEW-
SCT050-060 this evening, becoming mostly clear a few hours after
sunset.

&&

.MARINE...
High pressure continues over the region with generally easterly
winds and gusty evening surges with periods of exercise caution
level winds and choppy seas on the waters tonight through the
weekend. Winds decrease a bit early to mid next week with the
afternoon seabreeze returning.

&&

.FIRE WEATHER...
High pressure continues over the region with the warm and dry
conditions remaining in place through the weekend. Minimum
humidities are expected to be at or just below critical values
each afternoon. Easterly winds become occasionally gusty each
afternoon into evening with high dispersions in some areas. Fuel
moistures remain just moist enough to prevent red flag conditions
though.
