...FLOOD WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL 9 AM CDT SUNDAY...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...Portions of South Central and Southeast Kansas, including
  the following counties, in South Central Kansas, Butler, Cowley,
  Harper, Sedgwick and Sumner. In Southeast Kansas, Chautauqua, Elk,
  Greenwood, Wilson and Woodson.

* WHEN...Until 900 AM CDT Sunday.

* IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying
  and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Various roads
  remain closed due to flooding mainly rural roads. Streams continue
  to rise due to excess runoff from earlier rainfall. Low-water
  crossings are inundated with water and may not be passable.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 1142 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
    thunderstorms. Flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
    shortly in the warned area. Between 2 and 6 inches of rain
    have fallen.
  - Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches are possible in
    the warned area.
  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
    Wichita, Derby, El Dorado, Arkansas City, Winfield, Andover,
    Haysville, Augusta, Wellington, Mulvane, Rose Hill, Eureka,
    Clearwater, Anthony, Douglass, Belle Plaine, Harper, Towanda,
    Conway Springs and Caldwell.


PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Do not drive into flooded areas or go around barricades. Nearly two
feet of water will carry most vehicles away. Turn around, don`t
drown.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
