  Calcasieu River Near Salt Water Barrier

For the Calcasieu River...including Glenmora, Oakdale, Oberlin,
Kinder, White Oak Park, Salt Water Barrier...Moderate flooding is
forecast.

* WHAT...Moderate flooding is occurring and minor flooding is
  forecast.

* WHERE...Calcasieu River near Oberlin.

* WHEN...Until late tomorrow evening.

* IMPACTS...At 15.0 feet, Moderate flooding will occur with several
  access roads to the river flooded.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 8:15 AM CDT Thursday the stage was 15.3 feet.
  - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours
    ending at 8:15 AM CDT Thursday was 16.1 feet.
  - Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage
    late tomorrow morning and continue falling to 8.5 feet
    Tuesday morning.
  - Flood stage is 13.0 feet.

  will occur.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 8:15 AM CDT Thursday the stage was 16.8 feet.
  - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours
    ending at 8:15 AM CDT Thursday was 17.6 feet.
  - Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage
    late this evening and continue falling to 10.5 feet Tuesday
    morning.
  - Flood stage is 16.0 feet.

...FLOOD WARNING NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL EARLY MONDAY MORNING...

* WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.

* WHERE...Calcasieu River near Glenmora.

* WHEN...Until early Monday morning.

* IMPACTS...At 14.0 feet, Some roads upstream from Glenmora,
  including Strothers Crossing Road near the community of Calcasieu
  and Price Crossing Road near Hineston have two to three feet of
  water over the road and are subject to being closed. Flooding of
  forested areas near the river will also occur.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 8:45 AM CDT Thursday the stage was 13.5 feet.
  - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours
    ending at 8:45 AM CDT Thursday was 13.8 feet.
  - Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage
    late Sunday evening and continue falling to 11.3 feet Tuesday
    morning.
  - Flood stage is 12.0 feet.

* WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is
  forecast.

* WHERE...Calcasieu River near White Oak Park.

* WHEN...Until further notice.

* IMPACTS...At 4.0 feet, Goos Ferry Road becomes impassable.
  Calcasieu River from the Saltwater Barrier to the parish line may
  be closed to recreational boat traffic.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 7:35 AM CDT Thursday the stage was 3.8 feet.
  - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours
    ending at 7:35 AM CDT Thursday was 3.8 feet.
  - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 4.5
    feet just after midnight tonight.
  - Flood stage is 2.0 feet.
