area. Therefore, the warning has been cancelled.
A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until midnight CDT for
central, south central and southwestern Louisiana.

...A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 630 PM CDT
FOR NORTHEASTERN ACADIA...SOUTHEASTERN AVOYELLES AND ST. LANDRY
PARISHES...
At 607 PM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line
extending from near Black Hawk to near Church Point, moving east at
40 mph.
HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage to
roofs, siding, and trees.
Locations impacted include...
Opelousas, Church Point, Simmesport, Krotz Springs, Leonville,
Arnaudville, Melville, Moreauville, Palmetto, Bordelonville, Bayou
Current, Morrow, Sunset, Port Barre, Washington, Grand Coteau,
Plaucheville, Goudeau, Prairie Ronde, and Lawtell.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Remain alert for a possible tornado! Tornadoes can develop quickly
from severe thunderstorms. If you spot a tornado go at once into a
small central room in a sturdy structure.
For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.
Continuous cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms.
Move indoors immediately. Lightning is one of nature`s leading
killers. Remember, if you can hear thunder, you are close enough to
be struck by lightning.
