...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL IMPACT SOUTHWESTERN UNION AND
SOUTHEASTERN COLUMBIA COUNTIES...NORTHWESTERN UNION AND NORTHEASTERN
CLAIBORNE PARISHES THROUGH 845 AM CDT...

At 757 AM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 8
miles northeast of Atlanta, or 13 miles northwest of Junction City,
moving southeast at 30 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and pea size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
         possible.

Locations impacted include...
Junction City, Bernice, Village, Atlanta, Wesson, Cooley,
Spearsville, Lillie, Hew Hope, Newell, Taylorville, Summerfield,
Marysville, Cairo, Noxobe, Three Creeks, Corney Lake, Lockhart,
Spotville, and Catesville.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.

This storm may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio
stations and available television stations for additional information
and possible warnings from the National Weather Service.
