PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Safety Message...Do not drive into flooded areas. Shallow flowing
water can wash a car from the roadway. Also, the roadbed may be
washed out under the water.

  The Marais Des Cygnes River near Quenemo.
* until Thursday evening.
* At 5:57 PM Wednesday the stage was 26.3 feet.
* Flood stage is 17.0 feet.
* Moderate flooding is occurring and Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The river will continue to fall to below flood stage by late
  Thursday morning.
* Impact...At 26.1 feet...Farm field along the river just north and
  east of South Stubbs Road bridge floods. South Stubbs Road remains
  flooded about 2 miles south of Quenemo.

  Thursday morning.
* Impact...At 19.5 feet...Prairie Street, north of the bridge, floods.

* Flood stage is 22.0 feet.
* Moderate flooding is occurring and Moderate flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The river will continue rising to near 24.3 feet by
  early Thursday morning. The river will fall below flood stage
  Thursday afternoon.
* Impact...At 23.0 feet...Water overtops Road 145 on the west
  side of the bridge over the Neosho River.

* Impact...At 26.0 feet...Minor lowland flooding occurs from
  Marysville to Tuttle Creek Lake.

* Impacts...At 19.0 feet...Minor flooding of lowland areas occurs along
  the river from Vermillion to the mouth of the Black Vermillion
  River.

  early Thursday morning. The river will fall below flood stage
  Thursday early afternoon.
* Impact...At 20.0 feet...South bank of the Cottonwood River 1 mile
  south of Emporia floods.

* Forecast...The river will remain fairly steady overnight. The river
  will fall below flood stage Thursday morning.
* Impact...At 16.5 feet...Low lying farm fields begin to flood along
  the Kansas River.

* Forecast...The river will continue rising to near 18.8 feet by
  Thursday morning. The river will fall below flood stage Thursday
  evening.
* Impact...At 18.0 feet...Lowlands outside of the levee on the north
  side of the river begin to flood. Burcham Park is closed due to
  flooding on the south side of the river.
