THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN TOPEKA HAS ISSUED A

* URBAN AND SMALL STREAM FLOOD ADVISORY FOR...
  SHAWNEE COUNTY IN EAST CENTRAL KANSAS...
  EAST CENTRAL WABAUNSEE COUNTY IN EAST CENTRAL KANSAS...

* UNTIL 730 PM CDT

* AT 423 PM CDT...DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED HEAVY RAIN DUE TO
  THUNDERSTORMS. THIS WILL CAUSE URBAN AND SMALL STREAM FLOODING IN
  THE ADVISORY AREA. UP TO ONE INCH OF RAIN HAS ALREADY FALLEN...AND
  THESE STORMS HAVE A HISTORY OF PRODUCING RAINFALL RATES OF 2 TO 3
  INCHES IN LESS THAN AN HOUR.

* SOME LOCATIONS THAT WILL EXPERIENCE FLOODING INCLUDE...
  TOPEKA...ROSSVILLE...DOVER...SILVER LAKE...AUBURN...MAPLE HILL...
  WILLARD...BERRYTON...KEENE AND PAULINE.

ADDITIONAL RAINFALL OF 1 TO 2 INCHES ARE EXPECTED OVER THE AREA.
THIS ADDITIONAL RAIN WILL MAKE MINOR FLOODING.

THIS INCLUDES THE FOLLOWING HIGHWAYS...
 INTERSTATE 70 BETWEEN MILE MARKERS 340 AND 355.
 KANSAS TURNPIKE BETWEEN MILE MARKERS 166 AND 183.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

EXCESSIVE RUNOFF FROM HEAVY RAINFALL WILL CAUSE PONDING OF WATER IN
URBAN AREAS...HIGHWAYS...STREETS AND UNDERPASSES AS WELL AS OTHER
POOR DRAINAGE AREAS AND LOW LYING SPOTS. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO TRAVEL
ACROSS FLOODED ROADS. FIND ALTERNATE ROUTES.

YOUR REPORT TO THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE FORECAST OFFICE.
