THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR EAST CENTRAL...NORTH
CENTRAL AND NORTHEAST KANSAS.

.DAY ONE...TODAY AND TONIGHT.

LIGHT FREEZING DRIZZLE IS POSSIBLE THIS MORNING ALONG AND SOUTH OF
INTERSTATE 70. CHANCES FOR LIGHT FREEZING RAIN OR FREEZING DRIZZLE WILL
GRADUALLY INCREASE THIS AFTERNOON. TONIGHT FREEZING RAIN WILL
BECOME WIDESPREAD ACROSS THE ENTIRE OUTLOOK AREA WITH HEAVIEST
EXPECTED FROM MID EVENING THROUGH THE OVERNIGHT HOURS. AREAS THAT
RECEIVE FREEZING RAIN CAN EXPECT ROADS TO QUICKLY BECOME SLICK AND
HAZARDOUS.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...SUNDAY THROUGH FRIDAY.

PERIODS OF FREEZING RAIN WILL CONTINUE SUNDAY NIGHT. WHILE RAIN
WILL NOT BE CONSTANT...THE AREAS THAT RECEIVE FREEZING RAIN WILL
EXPECT ROADS TO BECOME SLICK AND HAZARDOUS. OVER THIS TIME
FRAME...MUCH OF THE AREA WILL EVENTUALLY ACCUMULATE ENOUGH ICE TO
CAUSE AT LEAST SPORADIC POWER OUTAGES. THERE IS SOME POTENTIAL FOR
WIDESPREAD POWER OUTAGES TO DEVELOP WITHIN HEAVIER POCKETS OF
FREEZING RAIN.

TEMPERATURES WILL WARM SLIGHTLY FROM SOUTH TO NORTH ON SUNDAY...
AND ARE LIKELY TO WARM ABOVE FREEZING FOR MUCH OF THE AREA...BUT
LOCATIONS GENERALLY NORTH OF A SALINA TO MANHATTAN TO HIAWATHA
LINE MAY REMAIN COLDER THAN FREEZING WITH ADDITIONAL ICE
ACCUMULATION THROUGH SUNDAY NIGHT. VERY MINOR CHANGES IN
TEMPERATURE COULD MAKE A VERY LARGE DIFFERENCE IN FORECAST ICE
AMOUNTS.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...

SPOTTER ACTIVATION WILL NOT BE NEEDED THROUGH TONIGHT.
