.DISCUSSION...

AVIATION...(FOR THE 18Z TAFS THROUGH 18Z FRIDAY AFTERNOON)
ISSUED AT 1245 PM CDT THU JUN 25 2015

EXPECTING MOSTLY VFR FOR THE AFTERNOON. SOME POTENTIAL FOR
THUNDERSTORMS HEADING INTO THE 23Z TIME FRAME OVER THE TERMINALS,
BUT LEFT OUT FOR NOW AS THERE IS LITTLE IN THE WAY OF CONVERGENCE
TO HELP BREAK THE CAP IN PLACE. THE BETTER CONFIDENCE IS LOOKING
TO BE AFTER 2Z AT KMHK AND 3Z NEAR THE KTOP/KFOE TERMINALS AS THE
ADVANCING SHORTWAVE MAKES IT INTO NORTHEASTERN KS REGION AND HELPS
TO PROVIDE A FOCUS FOR THUNDERSTORMS TO DEVELOP. STILL WENT WITH
VCTS FOR NOW DUE TO LOW CONFIDENCE IN THE COVERAGE. IT IS
REASONABLE THAT THERE COULD BE A PROLONGED PERIOD OF STORMS
UNTIL THE 12Z TIME FRAME. AFTER THAT, POST FRONTAL STRATUS IS
STILL LIKELY, BUT DIDN`T SEE A STRONG REASON AT THIS TIME TO BRING
DOWN CIGS INTO MVFR CATEGORIES DUE TO THE TIME FRAME WHEN THIS
COULD REASONABLY OCCUR AS THE BETTER CHANCE FOR LOWER CIGS COULD
BE JUST OFF TO THE NORTH AND NORTHEAST OF THE TERMINALS.
