...SHAWNEE COUNTY...

.DISCUSSION...

AVIATION...(FOR THE 00Z TAFS THROUGH 00Z WEDNESDAY EVENING)
ISSUED AT 626 PM CDT TUE MAY 17 2016

FOR THE 00Z TAFS, HAVE MADE ONLY MINOR ADJUSTMENTS AT THIS POINT.
THE BIG QUESTION IS GOING TO BE CONCERNING LOW VIS WITH POTENTIAL
FOG NEAR THE 12Z TIME FRAME. CONFIDENCE IS LOW TO MEDIUM ON EXTENT
OF FOG AND PERSISTENCE. HAVE KEPT THE IDEA THAT AMPLE GROUND
MOISTURE AND COOLING TO THE DEWPOINT WILL ALLOW FOR LOW LEVEL
SATURATION. COMPLICATING FACTORS REMAIN HOW MUCH THE ATMOSPHERE
WILL ACTUALLY DECOUPLE AND ALSO RESIDUAL CLOUD COVER DRIFTING IN
FROM THE NORTH WHICH SEEMS TO BE LITTLE IF ANY. SO, IF THE WINDS
DO CALM, THEN IT COULD BE POSSIBLE TO SEE A BETTER SET UP TAKE
PLACE FOR FOG. PLANNERS WILL NEED TO MONITOR FOR UPDATES.
