NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE TOPEKA KS

Water levels will approach flood stage for the following location:
Kansas River near Lawrence.

For the Kansas River at Lawrence...
The latest stage was...15.0 feet at 10 AM Sunday.
Flood stage is...18.0 feet.

Forecast...The river is forecast to crest at 17.9 feet Monday morning
which is a tenth of a foot below flood stage.

At 18.0 feet...Lowlands outside of the levee on the north side of the
river begin to flood. Burcham Park is closed due to flooding on the
south side of the river.

Stay tuned to later developments by listening to NOAA Weather Radio
and local media.

Safety Message...Do not drive into flooded areas. Shallow flowing
water can wash a car from the roadway. Also, the roadbed may be
washed out under the water.
