Water levels will approach flood stage for the following location:
Kansas River near Lecompton.

For the Kansas River at Lecompton...
The latest stage was...16.0 feet at 3 PM Sunday.
Flood stage is...17.0 feet.
No flooding is forecast.
fORECAST...The river is forecast to crest around 16.20 ft early this
evening, then slowly fall. This is around a foot below flood stage.

At 16.5 feet...Low lying farm fields begin to flood along the Kansas
River.

Stay tuned to later developments by listening to NOAA Weather Radio
and local media.

Safety Message...Do not drive into flooded areas. Shallow flowing
water can wash a car from the roadway. Also, the roadbed may be
washed out under the water.
