...SIGNIFICANT WEATHER ADVISORY FOR NORTHERN JEFFERSON...NORTHERN
SHAWNEE AND SOUTHEASTERN JACKSON COUNTIES UNTIL 300 AM CST...

At 235 AM CST, Doppler radar was tracking a thunderstorm near Silver
Lake, moving northeast at 65 mph.

Dime size hail and winds in excess of 30 mph will be possible with
this storm.

Freezing rain may also cause bridges and overpasses to ice up
quickly.

Locations impacted include...
Northwestern Topeka, Valley Falls, Silver Lake, Meriden, Hoyt,
Ozawkie, Nortonville, Winchester, Denison and Willard.

This includes Interstate 70 between mile markers 349 and 355.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.
