............SEPTEMBER 2016 WARMER AND DRIER THAN NORMAL............

UPPER LEVEL HIGH PRESSURE DOMINATED THE ROCKY MOUNTAIN REGION MUCH
OF THE MONTH...WHICH RESULTED IN WARM AND DRY WEATHER ACROSS NORTH
CENTRAL AND NORTHEASTERN COLORADO. OCCASIONAL UPPER LEVEL TROUGHS
OF LOW PRESSURE AND ASSOCIATED COLD FRONTS BROUGHT BRIEF PERIODS OF
COOLER WEATHER TO THE STATE THROUGHOUT THE MONTH. DENVER DID NOT
RECEIVE MUCH PRECIPITATION FROM THESE STORM SYSTEMS DUE TO THE FACT
THEY TRACKED NORTH OF COLORADO.

TEMPERATURES:

THE AVERAGE TEMPERATURE AT DENVER INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT FOR THE
MONTH WAS 66.0 DEGREES F, WHICH WAS 2.6 DEGREES ABOVE NORMAL. THE
WARMEST SEPTEMBER ON RECORD OCCURRED IN 2015...WITH AN AVERAGE
MONTHLY TEMPERATURE OF 69.4 DEGREES F. THE COLDEST SEPTEMBER ON RECORD
WAS 54.7 DEGREES F BACK IN 1912. ON THE 5TH...THE TEMPERATURE
CLIMBED TO 93 DEGREES F WHICH IS THE HIGHEST TEMPERATURE OF THE
MONTH. THE COLDEST TEMPERATURE OF 37 DEGREES F OCCURRED ON THE
