REMARKS...

THE MONTH OF SEPTEMBER AT THE GRAND FORKS INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT
OVERALL WAS ABOVE NORMAL WITH RESPECT TO TEMPERATURES. THERE WERE
TWO 90-DEGREE DAYS DURING THE MONTH, ON SEPTEMBER 3 WITH A VALUE OF
91 DEGREES AND SEPTEMBER 12 WITH A VALUE OF 94 DEGREES. THE HIGH
TEMPERATURE ON SEPTEMBER 12 SET A NEW RECORD AND BROKE THE OLD ONE-
DAY RECORD OF 93 DEGREES PREVIOUSLY SET IN 1952. THE AVERAGE
TEMPERATURE FOR THE MONTH WAS 60.0 DEGREES WHICH IS 3.1 DEGREES
ABOVE NORMAL.

PRECIPITATION FOR SEPTEMBER STARTED OFF BELOW NORMAL FOR THE FIRST
HALF OF THE MONTH. A CHANGE IN THE WEATHER PATTERN IN THE MIDDLE OF
THE MONTH BROUGHT MUCH WETTER CONDITIONS TO THE AREA. A RECORD ONE-
DAY RAINFALL AMOUNT WAS SET ON SEPTEMBER 15 WITH A VALUE OF 1.96
INCHES, WHICH BROKE THE PREVIOUS RECORD OF 0.88 INCHES SET IN 1991.
AS A RESULT, THE TOTAL RAINFALL FOR THE MONTH WAS 4.45 INCHES WHICH
IS 2.40 INCHES ABOVE NORMAL.
