...NOVEMBER WAS MUCH WARMER THAN NORMAL IN NORFOLK...WITH NEAR-
NORMAL PRECIPITATION...
...THE FALL MONTHS OF SEPTEMBER THROUGH NOVEMBER WERE MUCH WARMER
THAN NORMAL IN NORFOLK...

THE AVERAGE TEMPERATURE IN NOVEMBER WAS THE 3RD WARMEST ON RECORD IN
NORFOLK...AS MUCH OF THE MONTH WAS DOMINATED BY WELL ABOVE-NORMAL
TEMPERATURES.  THE TOTAL PRECIPITATION OF 1.34 INCHES WAS JUST 0.03
INCHES BELOW NORMAL.

THE 1ST THROUGH 17TH WAS DOMINATED BY TEMPERATURES THAT WERE MUCH
WARMER THAN NORMAL...INCLUDING SEVERAL HIGHS IN THE 60S AND 70S.
RAIN FELL ON THE 7TH AND 17TH. THE WARMEST TEMPERATURE OF THE MONTH
OCCURRED ON THE 3RD AND THE 16TH AT 76 DEGREES. THE READING ON THE
16TH WAS A DAILY RECORD WARM TEMPERATURE. THE WARMEST LOW
TEMPERATURE OF THE MONTH OCCURRED ON THE 6TH AT 49 DEGREES.

A STRONG COLD FRONT ON THE 18TH BROUGHT WINDS GUSTING AS HIGH AS 53
MPH...FOLLOWED BY THE ONLY OTHER DAY IN NOVEMBER WITH A BELOW-
AVERAGE AVERAGE TEMPERATURE ON THE 19TH. SHWOERS AND THUNDER CHANGED
TO SNOW ON THE 18TH...WITH THE FIRST SNOWFALL OF THE MONTH AT 2.5
INCHES. THE COLDEST LOW TEMPERATURES OF THE MONTH OCCURRED ON THE
19TH...AT 21 DEGREES. TEMPERATURES REBOUNDED TO READINGS ABOVE TO
WELL ABOVE NORMAL FROM THE 22ND THROUGH THE 30TH...WITH MEASURABLE
PRECIPITATION ON FOUR ADDITIONAL DAYS AND THUNDER REPORTED ON THREE
OF THOSE.


THE FALL MONTHS OF SEPTEMBER-OCTOBER-NOVEMBER WERE THE 4TH WARMEST
ON RECORD FOR NORFOLK.  THE AVERAGE TEMPERATURE OF 50.4 DEGREES WAS
4.3 DEGREES ABOVE NORMAL.  THE TOTAL PRECIPITATION OF 5.72 INCHES
WAS 0.41 INCHES BELOW NORMAL...REGISTERING IN THE RANGE OF NEAR
NORMAL. NO SNOW WAS RECORDED THIS FALL...WHICH IS 2.8 INCHES LESS
THAN NORMAL.  THE FIRST FREEZE OCCURRED ON OCTOBER 7TH AT 31
DEGREES...WHICH WAS 4 DAYS LATER THAN AVERAGE.  THE FIRST HARD
FREEZE OCCURRED ON OCTOBER 12TH AT 27 DEGREES...WHICH IS 1 DAY LATER
THAN THE AVERAGE OF OCTOBER 13. ONLY 21 DAYS HAD LOW TEMPERATURES AT
OR BELOW FREEZING...WHICH IS THE 3RD FEWEST ON RECORD. THERE WERE 47
DAYS WITH MAXIMUM TEMPERATURES OF 70 DEGREES OR HIGHER...WHICH IS
THE 4TH MOST ON RECORD FOR THE FALL MONTHS.
