.Summary...
Cold weather at the end of December continued into January.
There were a few periods warmer than average, mainly during
the second and fourth weeks. However, the month as a whole
ended up over four degrees below average. The coldest periods
were from the 1st through the 7th, and the 12th through the
19th, when daily temperatures were as much as 10 to around
30 degrees below average. During the month, Pine Bluff saw
the first single-digit readings since February of 2011, and
the coldest temperature since December of 1989.

Rainfall was below average. It was the driest January in two
years.

Snowfall was nearly twice the monthly average for January. It
was the snowiest January in seven years.

.Monthly Temperatures...
The average high temperature was the coldest since 2010. The
average low and monthly temperature was the coldest since
2014.

.Daily Temperatures...
Daily temperatures were above average on 13 days, average on one
day, and below average on 17 days.

There were six days with high temperatures at or below freezing,
which was the most since 1988, and most recently tied 1988 for the
3rd highest on record in the month of January.

There were 21 days with low temperatures at or below freezing, which
was the most since 2014.

There were three days with single-digit temperatures, which was the
most in January since 1988. The low temperature of 5 degrees above
zero on the 17th was the coldest temperature at Pine Bluff since
December 24, 1989.
