The Flood Watch is now in effect for

* A portion of west central Washington, including the following
  county, Pierce.

* Through this afternoon

* Heavy rain is almost over in the area but most rivers are still
rising and not yet out of the threat for possible flooding.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

current forecasts.

You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible
flood warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be
prepared to take action should flooding develop.

The Flash Flood Watch is now in effect for

* A portion of west central Washington, the eastern part of Pierce
County in the vicinity of the Norse Peak burn scar.

* Until 7 AM PDT this morning

* Flash flooding looks less likely as most of the heavy rain moves
out of the area. However, there is still a few more hours to go
with the potential for heavy rain so the watch continues for
now. Rainfall totals near the area have been about 3.3 inches as
the area is being partially rain shadowed from Mount Rainier.

* Higher than normal runoff, excess debris, and debris flows will
be possible in and immediately below the burn areas, especially
near SR 410, the vicinity of Goat Creek, and the valley below
  Crystal Mountain.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should Flash Flood Warnings be issued.
