...THE FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 545 PM CDT FOR
CRAWFORD COUNTY IN EAST CENTRAL MISSOURI...IRON...STE. GENEVIEVE...
REYNOLDS AND MADISON COUNTIES IN SOUTHEASTERN MISSOURI...WASHINGTON
COUNTY IN EAST CENTRAL MISSOURI AND ST. FRANCOIS COUNTIES IN
SOUTHEASTERN MISSOURI...

At 336 PM CDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated a
new round of thunderstorms producing heavy rain over the warned
area. 1 to 3 inches of additional rainfall are estimated to have
fallen in Crawford County already in less than two hours and similar
additional rainfall amounts and very high rainfall rates are
expected as this line of storms moves through the warned area
through the middle part of this evening.

This will aggravate or enhance current flooding and create new areas
of flash flooding that may not have experienced it yet.

Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Farmington, Sullivan, Bonne Terre, Desloge, Ste. Genevieve,
Fredericktown, Cuba, Potosi, Steelville, Bourbon, Bismarck, Ironton,
Leadwood, Anthonies Mill, Park Hills, Reynolds, Ellington, Pilot
Knob, Iron Mountain Lake and Viburnum.

This includes the following highways...
 Interstate 44 in Missouri between exits 203 and 218.
 Interstate 55 in Missouri between exits 143 and 162.

This also includes  Washington State Park, St. Joe State Park, St.
Francois State Park, Onondaga Cave State Park, Johnsons Shut-Ins
State Park, Hawn State Park, Fort Davidson Historic Site, Felix Valle
House State Park, Elephant Rocks State Park, Dillard Mill Historic
Site, Taum Sauk Mountain State Park, Missouri Mines Historic Site,
and Clearwater Lake Recreational Area.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small
creeks and streams, country roads, farmland, and other low lying
spots.

Please report flooding to your local law enforcement agency when you
can do so safely.
