Flood Statement

.Flood Warnings continue along the Mississippi River at Wabasha,
Winona, La Crosse, and McGregor and along the Trempealeau River
at Dodge. Water levels along the Mississippi River will remain
steady or continue to rise over the next several days, whereas
water levels along the Trempealeau River will continue to slowly
fall.

River forecasts take into account both observed and forecast
precipitation.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Do not drive cars into flooded areas. Remember, it only takes two
feet of water to float most automobiles, including sport utility
vehicles. Turn Around, Don`t Drown!

The Flood Warning continues for the Mississippi River At Wabasha.
* until Wednesday May 31...Or until the warning is cancelled.
* At 3:15 AM Wednesday the stage was 12.7 feet.
* Flood stage is 12.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The river will remain steady near 12.7 feet this
  morning. The river will fall below flood stage Tuesday.
* Impact...At 12.5 feet...Flooding occurs on the soccer field on
  Hiawatha Drive.

* until Monday morning...Or until the warning is cancelled.
* At 3:45 AM Wednesday the stage was 13.4 feet.
* Flood stage is 13.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The river will continue rising to near 13.7 feet by this
  evening. The river will fall below flood stage Sunday.
* Impact...At 13.0 feet...Prairie Island Park begins to flood. Pumping
  operations are underway by the city of Winona, and dike patrols are
  started.

The Flood Warning continues for the Mississippi River At La Crosse.
* until Monday evening...Or until the warning is cancelled.
* At 3:15 AM Wednesday the stage was 12.3 feet.
* Flood stage is 12.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The river will continue rising to near 12.6 feet by
  Thursday morning. The river will fall below flood stage Monday
  morning.
* Impact...At 12.0 feet...Pettibone Campground and RV Park is flooded.
  Road access to the north end of the Shore Acres development is
  impacted by flooding. Some lowland flooding occurs in other areas
  near the river.

* until further notice...Or until the warning is cancelled.
* At 3:15 AM Wednesday the stage was 15.2 feet.
* Flood stage is 16.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...Rise above flood stage by this evening and continue to
  rise to near 17.8 feet by Saturday evening.
* Impact...At 17.0 feet...Minor lowland flooding begins, and access to
  parks near the river in Prairie du Chien is affected.

* until late Thursday night...Or until the warning is cancelled.
* At 3:45 AM Wednesday the stage was 10.0 feet.
* Flood stage is 9.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The river will continue to fall...Dropping below flood
  stage by Thursday morning.
* Impact...At 9.5 feet...The entrance road to the Trempealeau National
  Wildlife Refuge is flooded.
