the next 24 hours.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If you encounter a flooded roadway, turn around and find an
alternate route. Turn around, don`t drown.

  The Wapsipinicon River at Independence.
* Until Monday evening.
* At 10:30 PM Saturday the stage was 17.4 feet...and rising.
* Flood stage is 12 feet.
* Major flooding is occurring.
* Forecast...Rise to 17.7 feet Sunday morning. Fall below flood stage
  Monday evening.
* Impact...At 16.0 feet...Water affects many residences, businesses,
  and parks in Independence and Littleton.
