FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE ANCHORAGE AK

.DISCUSSION...

A FRONT MOVING INLAND TONIGHT WILL BRING PLENTY OF SHOWERS TO COASTAL
WITH SOME MAKING THEIR WAY ACROSS THE CHUGACH AND KENAI MOUNTAINS.
A NEARLY STATIONARY UPPER LOW OVER THE AKPEN AND KODIAK ISLAND WILL
CONTINUE TO SEND PERIODIC WAVES OF MOISTURE TO THE GULF COAST THROUGH
THESE WILL BRING SHOWERS TO ALL ZONES THROUGH MON...WITH SOME SNOW
TO MOUNTAIN PASSES. BREAKS IN THE PRECIPITATION WILL BE MORE COMMON
AT LOWER ELEVATIONS. THESE BREAKS WILL ALLOW LOCAL TEMPERATURES TO
RISE...AND SOME DOWNSLOPING WILL KEEP DRIER AIR IN THE MATANUSKA VALLEY
THROUGH MON. AFTERNOON RH VALUES THERE WILL FALL INTO THE 30 TO 40
PERCENT RANGE ON SUN WITH WINDS LESS THAN 20 MPH. WINDS WILL BE EVEN
LESS ON MON WITH HIGHER RH VALUES.
