FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR NORTHERN LOWER MICHIGAN
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE GAYLORD MI
531 AM EDT SUN MAY 29 2016

...WARM AND HUMID AGAIN TODAY THEN DRIER FOR MEMORIAL DAY...

.DISCUSSION...LOW PRESSURE OVER THE WESTERN UPPER PENINSULA WILL
ADVANCE INTO ONTARIO TODAY...AND DRAG A COLD FRONT THROUGH THE
REGION. AHEAD OF THE FRONT...WARM AND SOMEWHAT HUMID CONDITIONS
WILL PERSIST FOR ANOTHER DAY AND WILL SET THE STAGE FOR SCATTERED
SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS THIS AFTERNOON. BEST CHANCES FOR STORMS
WILL BE ACROSS NORTHEAST LOWER MICHIGAN.

TONIGHT THROUGH MEMORIAL DAY...HIGH PRESSURE WILL BUILD ACROSS THE
REGION ALONG WITH DRIER AND SLIGHTLY COOLER TEMPERATURES FOR
MONDAY. THIS WILL RESULT IN MUCH LOWER AFTERNOON HUMIDITY VALUES FOR
MONDAY ALTHOUGH READINGS WILL REMAIN ABOVE CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER
THRESHOLDS. SOME GUSTY WESTERLY WINDS ARE ALSO POSSIBLE MONDAY
AFTERNOON WITH SOME GUSTS TO AROUND 20 MPH. COMBINED WITH WARM
TEMPERATURES AND LOWER HUMIDITY READINGS...MAY LEAD TO AN
ELEVATED FIRE WEATHER DAY.
