FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR NORTHEAST AND NORTH CENTRAL
COLORADO
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DENVER/BOULDER CO
421 AM MDT SUN APR 23 2017

.DISCUSSION...Today and tonight...High pressure ridge aloft will be
over Colorado today and then shift into the central plains tonight
ahead of next Pacific weather system. Much warmer today with lower
humidity levels. A weak system will rapidly move across the
mountains tonight with a quick shot of rain and snow showers. Could
see a couple of inches of snow over higher elevations. Increasing
westerly winds over the mountains and exposed ridges with gusts up
to 45 mph possible.

LONG TERM DISCUSSION...Monday through Thursday...Gusty westerly
winds across the mountains and foothills Monday morning should
decrease through the day. Expect accumulating snow across the high
country Monday into Tuesday with a chance of showers over the
plains. Expect a cooler and wetter pattern through the week as an
upper trough over the Rocky Mountain Region. In addition, periods of
light snow will be possible in the mountains with a chance of
afternoon showers and a wet thunderstorm or two on the plains each
day from Tuesday through Thursday.

...Thunderstorms imply strong gusty erratic winds...
...All surface winds are 20-Foot...10-Minute averaged winds...
...CWR is Chance of Wetting Rain - 0.10 inch or more liquid...
...24 HR Trends are based on averages over the respective zone
groups and may not match the actual forecast values
                     shown in those groups...
