Fire Weather Forecast for Northeast and North Central Colorado
National Weather Service Denver/Boulder CO
351 AM MDT Tue Sep 19 2017

...RED FLAG WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 11 AM THIS MORNING TO 8 PM MDT
THIS EVENING FOR MOST OF THE HIGHER TERRAIN AND THE NORTHEAST PLAINS...

.DISCUSSION...Today and tonight...Gusty southwest winds, low humidity and above
normal temperatures will allow for critical to extreme fire danger this afternoon
into the early evening hours. A cold front will move across northeast Colorado
this evening and will bring cooler temperatures along with higher humidity levels.
In addition there will be a chance of showers in the mountains this evening north of
I-70.

LONG TERM DISCUSSION...Wednesday through Saturday...Southwesterly
flow aloft will continue over the forecast area. It will become
strong and more south-southwesterly later on Friday and Saturday.
It will remain hot and dry on Wednesday and Thursday so elevated
fire danger will continue. A cold front moves in Friday night
with below normal temperatures expected along with more moisture
and a chance of wetting rains, especially in the mountains.

...Thunderstorms imply strong gusty erratic winds...
...All surface winds are 20-Foot...10-Minute averaged winds...
...CWR is Chance of Wetting Rain - 0.10 inch or more liquid...
...24 HR Trends are based on averages over the respective zone
groups and may not match the actual forecast values
                    shown in those groups...
