Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Central South Carolina
and East Central Georgia
National Weather Service Columbia SC
211 PM EDT Wed May 24 2017

.DISCUSSION...

An upper level trough will deepen to our west today and shift east
through our region Thursday. Sufficient moisture, daytime heating
and a surface boundary is sparking scattered thunderstorm activity,
some severe, this afternoon and early evening. A surface low will
track from the Midwest across the northern forecast area by late
Thursday, which will keep a chance for isolated showers and a few
possible thunderstorms. Expect gusty winds during the day Thursday.
Little fog is expected except briefly associated with heavy showers
and thunderstorm cores. Much drier air and high pressure ridging
will clear skies out on Friday.
