Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Northern Alabama
National Weather Service Huntsville AL
456 AM CDT Sat Apr 29 2017

.DISCUSSION...
South to southeast winds this morning generally around 5 to 10 mph
may increase sharply at times with some periodic gustiness to
around 25 mph. However, overall wind speeds will increase with
the onset of deep mixing this morning, especially after around
9 AM. Winds today will generally be from the south at around 10
to 20 mph with gusts to around 25 mph. Gusts at times may
approach 30 mph. Deeper moisture will keep relative humidity
values from mixing very low today, with values mainly staying in
the 40 to 50% percent range during the afternoon. A few showers
and thunderstorms may develop later this afternoon and move
quickly from south to north. Central and eastern areas of
northern Alabama will be favored for any development.

Conditions will be breezy and mild again on Sunday ahead of a
cold front approaching the region. A line of showers and
thunderstorms is expected to begin impacting northwestern Alabama
by late in the afternoon and slowly move eastward across the area.
Some thunderstorms may produce strong to severe wind gusts and
locally heavy rainfall. Rainfall amounts from late Sunday
afternoon through Sunday night may total around 1.5 to 2 inches,
although locally higher amounts are certainly possible.

Fog potential over the next few days: Fog is not expected over
the next few days.

Potential for Red Flag Conditions: Red Flag conditions are not
expected to be met over the next few days.
