.DISCUSSION...

...FLASH FLOOD WATCH ISSUED FOR THE EAST SLOPES OF THE NORTHERN
CASCADES INCLUDING MANY BURN SCARS THAT HAVE BEEN CREATED BY
FIRES OVER THE LAST 3 YEARS...

AN UNSEASONABLY STRONG AND SLOW MOVING LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM WILL
BRING RAIN...THUNDERSTORMS...GUSTY WINDS...AND COOLER WEATHER TO
THE INLAND NORTHWEST THE NEXT COUPLE OF DAYS. OUR BIGGEST CONCERN
THROUGH WEDNESDAY EVENING WILL BE FOR THE POTENTIAL OF EXCESSIVE
RAINFALL OVER THE STEEP TERRAIN OF THE EAST SLOPES OF THE

INTO THURSDAY WILL BE COOL AND WINDY...WITH GUSTS TO 40 MPH OR
MORE OVER THE CASCADE RIDGE TOPS...AND GUSTS TO 35 MPH THROUGH THE
CASCADE GAPS INTO THE COLUMBIA BASIN...PALOUSE...AND WEST PLAINS.
FRIDAY WILL CONTINUE TO BE COOLER THAN AVERAGE WITH LIGHT WINDS.
