Fire Weather Planning Forecast for NW Oregon and SW Washington
National Weather Service Portland OR
259 PM PDT Thu Jul 27 2017

...Warmer Trend Heading into Next Week...

.BROADCAST DISCUSSION...4-corners high slowly drifts west bringing
warmer temperatures, especially next week. Variable onshore flow
for the next several days will help keep humidity above critical
levels. Brief breezy winds near Coast Range gaps and the Central
Gorge this evening. No significant rain expected through early
next week under southwest flow aloft.

.DISCUSSION...Gradually getting warmer and drier through the
weekend and heading well into next week with the marine layer
shallowing and retreating back toward the coast each of the next
couple days.

The 4-corners high will begin drifting westward again while a Gulf
of Alaska low deepens well offshore. This will bring a prolonged
southwest flow over the next several days. Models continue to
delay the next threat of convection where yesterday they showed
potential for Cascade crest storms Sunday and Monday. This morning
it`s now Monday and Tuesday. Not getting terribly excited about
these events yet, but will be still tracking to see if/when
confidence improves. /JBonk
